Hello and welcome! This is the home of the famous Vermont Rock Candle. My name is Ian Smith, and I am the artist, and owner of Vermont Rock Candles LLC. A Vermont Rock Candle is an oil lamp. There is a hole that goes right through the stone, and a wick that is threaded into a reservoir underneath. The oil that is placed in the reservoir of your rock candle "wicks" up until it is ignited. Simple... fun... but truly unique. My rocks are hand picked from Vermont area quarries, and are carefully chosen for their beauty and individuality (see The Stone Types page for exact origins). All products are produced right here in Vermont! The primary stones used are called Emerald Schist, Red Slate and Mottle Slate. No two stones are the same and absolutely nothing is done or added to the surface of the stone that would change its natural beauty... Don't worry too much about choosing the "right one". They are all spectacular!
